RUSSIAN Game & Watch clone games

1. Brief Introduction

There are numbers of Game & Watch clones made by Russian (based on the fact, no offense!). It is very easy to get confused since the games have different case color, logo, box design and screenplay. These factors sometimes make Russian games collecting very difficult. This page is written to clarify and simplify the details of Russian games. Hopefully it can help you to understand more about them.

Some Russian games were made in the early 80's as Game & Watch era. Some others were made in the late 80's. Some games even have the golden metal plate which looks like a deluxe edition. Few of the Russian games have the exact screen play as Nintendo Game & Watch (e.g. Egg, Octopus, Chef and Mickey Mouse). Others have different screenplay but simliar game logic (e.g. Clown vs. Egg) .

The reason of so many different Russian games appeared in the past is due to the cold war issue in 80s. Nintendo games were not able to be distributed in Russia. However, Game & Watch handheld games were very popular so that many Russian companies tried to make a fortune by reproducing the games thmeselves.

2. Logo variation

9 different logos have been found so far. They can represent different companies or models.
